The Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab at the Benderson Family Heart Center at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Research Manager I (CRM) to oversee day-to-day coordination and overall management of Industry Sponsored and Investigator-initiated clinical trials, and quality improvement (QI) initiatives occurring in the Cath Lab. Under the direction of the Cath Lab Director, the CRM will coordinate with the principal investigators (PIs) of all clinical trials and QI initiatives in order to implement strategies that will ensure compliance, consistency, and accountability across clinical research.
This Clinical Research Manager will be responsible for:
  • Oversee all study management activities including and collaborate with the Cath Lab Director to establish divisional priorities and strategies for resource development and goal setting. * Consult on and support division-wide quality improvement initiatives. Educate involved staff and advise on methods, and tools and techniques for monitoring and assessing quality of care. Implementation and evaluate programs and quality dashboards.
  • Organize and coordinate team meetings.
  • Assist research biostatisticians with analysis file creation and statistical analyses.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of best practice guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for maintaining data quality and research infrastructure.
  • Hire, train, and manage research coordinators and research assistants. Develop and oversee program specific on-boarding and orientation process, ensure that all staff complete required mandatory and ongoing training in a timely manner. Conduct annual performance evaluations and communicate all personnel concerns to the Cath Lab Director/Principal Investigator.
  • Monitor program budget, maintain financial records, establish and maintain research billing and subject reimbursement schedule, and ensure compliance with hospital and governmental regulations. Negotiate sponsor budgets and contracts, develop annual research budget, reconcile expenses, and forecast expenditures.
  • Ensure all work is performed in conformance with established program, hospital, state, and federal policies and procedures.

In order to qualify, you must have:

  • Must be able to perform day-to-day responsibilities independently and supervise and train staff effectively.
  • Experience in protocol development; data management and analysis are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and effective problem-solving skills are required.
  • Knowledge of basic QI tools and control charts preferred.
  • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based knowledge.
  • Must have advanced writing skills.
  • Must have computer skills including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of electronic health record platforms and commercial electronic data capture applications.
