Job Overview:

RWJ Barnabas Health is looking to add a qualified full-time Neuro Technician III in New Brunswick, NJ. The primary purpose of the Neuropsychometric Assistant is to administer a battery of selected psychological and/or neuropsychological tests to a specified subject population in accordance with clearly defined procedures, under the supervision of a licensed clinical neuropsychologist.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A Bachelor s Degree in Psychology or a related field and at least one (1) year of experience administering psychological/neuropsychologist tests required
  • Must have analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of psychological and behavioral test scoring protocol, procedures and standards. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology or a closely related field with an emphasis in tests and measurement is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English speaking) applicants will be strongly considered for the position.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 40 hours/week
  • Full-Time Schedule

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and administers psychological and/or neuropsychological testing in various formats, to include paper and pencil test, computer-based tests, or tests requiring testing equipment, such as picture tests and dexterity boards, under standard conditions.
  • Explains testing procedures and objectives to subjects, and works with subjects to facilitate compliance with protocol and procedures and to ensure appropriate test completion.
  • Times tests and records results; identifies extraordinary test results, and immediately notifies the attending neuropsychologist.
  • Provides observational summary which may include reference to patient/participant behavioral information, effort level, degree of redirection required.
  • Assists in research through the systematic collection, preliminary analysis, and reporting of psychometric research data, using standard protocols.
  • Assists the neuropsychologists in scoring of selected tests within a neuropsychological battery and in the administering and completing behavior rating scales, as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and communicates appointment times and venues for the testing of individuals or subject groups.
  • Maintains records of testing supplies, instruments, and equipment on hand and orders replacement stock as necessary under the direction of the neuropsychologist.
  • Ensures confidentiality of test results and recommendations; maintains security of testing materials.
  • Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers s compliance standards as they appear in RBHS s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
