Position Summary
This is a key leadership role on a small, high-performing, and dynamic team building the future of PG&E's electrical grid that will reliably and safely deliver affordable and clean energy to our customers and communities. The Grid Operations, Applications, and Transformation (GOAT) team is dedicated to implementing and maintaining PG&E's Operational Technology including the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), which is fundamental to a sustainable energy future and the Grid of Tomorrow. We are seeking accomplished, integrity-driven, diverse, and collaborative individual to take on the critical Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) Product Owner role.

The Product Owner provides a clear vision of the product, influences system design, validates system performance, and resolves technical challenges. From product ideation to maintenance, the Product Owner forms well defined user stories, prioritizes the user stories backlog, and manages the delivery timelines while maintains the technical integrity and quality of the product. The Product Owner focuses on the end-user experience, needs and features that drive a roadmap to deliver their vision. The successful candidate will need to build and maintain relationships with the goal of acting as the customer's proxy and use their influence to overcome hierarchal challenges.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $147,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $199,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $251,000.00
  • Minimum Base Salary (California) $140,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California) $189,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California) $238,000.00

The SCADA Product Owner will work closely with:
* GOAT's internal ADMS support organization,
* PG&E's external ADMS vender's organization,
* Transmission SCADA Replacement Program (TSRP) project team and associated stakeholders, e.g. Energy Management System (EMS) Support and Grid Control Centers.
* ADMS & SCADA end-users (i.e., distribution operators, engineers, field users, and leaders),
* ADMS IT Team,
* Various Engineering and Standards teams responsible for identifying and approving new SCADA devices,
* Applied Technology Services, PG&E's testing and evaluation team,
* Grid Innovation, PG&E's R&D, grid of the future, and policy changes team,
* Strategic Infrastructure Programs, PG&E's radio infrastructure team, and
* Other system product owners (i.e., OMS, Advanced Applications, etc.).

The position will be responsible for leading the team in developing deployment plans, major project governance reviews with PG&E executives, and establishing best operational practices. The position will matrix manage project managers, engineers, control center operators.

Qualifications
Minimum:

* Bachelor's Degree or four additional years of relative working experience
* 7 years of job-related experience in utility operations

Desired:
* Knowledge of distribution equipment
* Knowledge of industry best practices regarding SCADA systems
* Knowledge of radio communication systems
* Strong execution skills
* MBA or Masters degree in quantitative field
* Working knowledge of ABB, GE, OSI or Schneider Electric ADMS system
* Working knowledge of Electric Distribution or Transmission Control Center operations
* Working knowledge of T&D grid & asset data
* Programming with SQL, Python, C#, etc.
* Exceptional program management, execution skills
* Proven ability to foster teamwork and work collaboratively through projects driving disruptive change
* Ability to foster teamwork, and work collaboratively
* Motivated, self-starter, eager to master new skills
* Experience working in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment
* Familiarity with key Electric Operations systems such as GIS, DMS, OMS, etc
