Description

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager will supervise a staff of 3 AR specialists, ensuring end-to-end AR process is executed seamlessly, oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable functions, including review of invoice preparation, customer statement reconciliation/submission, and resolution of errors or inquiries. Additionally, management of the collections process and preparation of monthly reporting.

Education and Experience Required:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline preferred or 10+ years of related experience working in a non-profit or corporate environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills, takes the initiative to drive action, and can work under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, including bank and ledger account reconciliations.
  • Must understand the importance of compliance with internal and external policies and regulations, and the importance of good customer service.
  • Excellent time management skills


Computer Skills Required:

Excellent Microsoft Office skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

AR Manager is responsible for the following:



  • Oversee the AR team to ensure end-to-end AR process is executed seamlessly, including review of invoice preparation, reconciliations, submissions, and resolution of errors or inquiries.
  • Lead the collections process to ensure balances are collected timely and are properly reported in Business Central (BC).
  • Create and maintain reporting files for management and directorates, including but not limited to analysis of the AR aging and unbilled activities.
  • Lead and ensure monthly, quarterly and annual closeouts are timely.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure top performance of the team and collections of outstanding AR balances.
  • Lead the process of identifying and implementing areas of process improvement for the AR department including the standardization of the invoicing process and templates while fully utilizing BC system functionality.
  • Manage the maintenance and documentation of proper controls and policies related to the AR.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on collection activity and receivable status monthly.
  • Partner with other accounting teams to maintain the reconciliation of billing data for respective general ledger accounts and resolve variances timely.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:

    • Assists as needed with audit requests, creating, or preparing reports, and other ad hoc requests.
