Product Engineer Category: Product Engineering Employment Type: Contract To Hire Reference: BH-381266 POSITION: Product Engineer DURATION: 12 Month Contract to Hire LOCATION: Speedway, IN START DATE: ASAP PAY RATE: $40-45 hr JOB DESCRIPTION: The Product Engineer will have design responsibility for automatic transmission components and sub-systems in support of product design, development, and production objectives. Essential Job Functions: Coordinates the design, analysis, and validation of engineering projects Releases and maintains engineering drawings and specifications Assesses requests for changes and deviations from vendors and plant Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies Provides technical direction to support personnel Coordinates test and/or development programs Coordinates engineering projects with other departments or vendors Maintains communication with vendors and/or customers on a regular basis Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc. Education required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: A minimum of 5 years experience in product engineering Proficient in oral and written business communication Ability to generate clear and concise formal presentations High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult Deep understanding of engineering theory and principles of design Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment Understanding of powertrain system operation and components Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities: Experience with automatic transmission operation, clutches, gears, hydraulics, and controls (both hydraulic and electrical Familiarity with automotive powertrain industry manufacturing processes and technologies Estimated Min Rate: $35.00 Estimated Max Rate: $45.00 Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
