As an Assistant Grounds Superintendent at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you will be responsible for assisting with managing the daily golf course operations by scheduling, training, and supervising the golf maintenance staff as well as turf management of the Brute and Highland Golf courses. What you will be doing: * Assist the course superintendent in managing turf for the Brute or Highlands Golf Course. * Oversee daily course maintenance and inspections, including handling superintendent duties when needed. * Communicate course conditions to the superintendent, golf staff, and guests. * Schedule and assign daily tasks while managing and training seasonal maintenance staff. * Assist with chemical and fertilizer programs, irrigation setup, scheduling, and repairs. * Collaborate with mechanics on equipment needs and maintenance issues. * Support capital improvement projects and ensure campus snow removal operations. * Serve as a hands-on working manager, contributing directly to course upkeep and team operations. * Other duties as assigned. What we are looking for: * Strong passion for golf course maintenance with a turf management background; education in turf management is a plus. * Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to obtain Wisconsin pesticide certification within one year. * Experience managing or supervising a crew of 10+ team members. * Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions. * Flexible schedule with availability for overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Ability to foster camaraderie, act ethically, and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and vendors. * Committed to maintaining professionalism and efficiency in all tasks.
