Basic Function (Purpose of Position):

Under the direction of the Supervisor or Shift Leader, to provide support to the Basic Ingredients production area by grinding botanicals, packaging finished product, and cleaning work area/equipment.

Duties:

• Grinds botanical raw material for extractors.
• Follows established procedures to clean (manually or with equipment) various sized containers, vessels and utensils as well as the production floor and equipment. Completes all sanitation and housekeeping duties as listed on the master sanitation schedule. Works in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and internal safety guidelines.
• Weighs and packages finished product in neat and accurate manner.
• Operating Fork Truck and Hi-Lo.
• Collects, empties and disposes of garbage.
• Assist in Dispensing or other duties/responsibilities as required.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills/Job Knowledge/:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment required. Able to read and write English. Must understand computer screens applicable to cleaning and be able to work with automated systems. Forklift and Hi-Lo experience is preferred. Must be safety-oriented, flexible, customer-focused and willing to work overtime as needed. Clear communication skills, team work skills and attention to detail are essential. For Dispensing, must have knowledge of metric weight systems/conversions with ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to hot and cold environments, weather, fumes, dust and gases are frequent. May be required to wear respirator for chemical exposure. Must follow safety guidelines and procedures and perform all duties involving hazardous wastes in accordance with training received.

Effect of Errors:

Failure to properly clean required areas may result in an unsafe situation. Failure to properly clean tanks may result in cross contamination of batches leading to loss of production and / or manufacturing expense.

Physical Demands/Dexterity:

Must be able to regularly/often lift, push, and pull to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and crouching is required. Frequent use of stairs and foot pedals is required. Typing on a computer may be necessary. Able to climb stationary stairs to stable mezzanine platform up to 16 - 20 feet high and work from heights.

Equipment Used:

Forklift, Hi-Lo, Hoists, and Grinders are used regularly.
