SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER - REMOTE BASED OUT OF INDIANA OR ILLINOIS

THE SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER:

* Manages an existing sustained customer base with a minimum sustained territory size of $15 million up to $30 million.

* Territory will include transactional and strategic accounts with a potential of platinum accounts.

* Generates a minimum of 10% new profitable sales each fiscal year.

* Spends up to 50% of time focusing on growth through new & existing customers via new and existing products.

* Manages time and territory in conjunction with manager on a monthly basis.

* Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER:

* Travel within the territory of Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan is required.

* Four-year college degree, preferably in Marketing or a related discipline.

* 8-10 years of sales/relationship management experience.

* Experience in medical markets is a plus, specifically orthopedic or instrumentation.

* Business/Functional Expertise: Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes, products or services in own function. Has expertise in own function.
* Project Management: Effectively manages small projects or sub-teams, including coordination of resources outside of own area. Forecasts and plans resource requirements for small projects or sub-teams.

* Financial Management: Monitors and controls costs within own work and may manage costs for small projects or areas.

* Enhanced knowledge of product offerings, product functionality, and alloy applications.

* Enhanced knowledge of markets and pricing practices/policies.

* Problem Solving: Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.

* Customer Focus: Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.
* Decision Making: Works independently to address a range of standard and non-standard situations.
* Flexibility when faced with frequently changing priorities.
* Strong goal and results orientation; high energy.
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
* Strong quantitative and data-driven decision-making skills.
* Ability to utilize knowledge of systems and processes to optimize workflow.
* Well-developed problem-solving skills. Effectiveness with multiple information systems, both mainframe and PC-based.
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills; demonstrates candor and an openness to viewpoints of others.
* Proven ability to resolve conflicts and arrive at good business decisions.
* Willingness to offer a dissenting viewpoint during group decision making.
* Professional business writing skills.
* Customer service orientation.
