As a Cook II, you will embrace the opportunity to contribute to an exceptional culinary experience by joining our dynamic Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will be dedicated to preparing high-quality food in accordance with established standards, ensuring optimal customer service and seamless kitchen operation. Your primary focus will be on preparing, cooking, and presenting food items while adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations. Additionally, you will maintain cleanliness, manage kitchen equipment, and contribute to the overall guest dining experience.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Equip assigned workstations with essential products and culinary equipment to ensure efficient production and exceptional service
  • Prepare food items according to standard recipes and/or guest specifications to ensure the highest quality.
  • Monitor and maintain proper storage, portion control, and inventory management of food products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigeration, storage, and work areas, following health and safety standards.
  • Prepare requisitions for food supplies and manage food production in the workstation.
  • Employ math skills to accurately measure ingredients and prepare dishes to specifications.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks assigned by supervisors to adhere to health and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure floor cleanliness to avoid slip/fall accidents and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Assist with moving supplies and equipment, and clean up spills as required.


Hotel Specific:



  • Perform duties across multiple outlets on the property as required



Physical Demands:




  • Strong knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and preparation techniques.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate job duties clearly.
  • Finger/hand dexterity for operating kitchen equipment and performing food preparation tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 100 lbs. continuously.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as required, including participation in special events.



Qualifications:

Education:



  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Completion of Culinary or Apprenticeship Program preferred



Experience:



  • Minimum of 1 year cook experience in hotel preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year cook experience in a similar role, size of operation required
  • Certifications in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) may be required
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
