* Base Pay Range: $4,388.80 - $6,931.60 per month/, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist manager with interviewing and recommending the hiring of qualified candidates. Ensure orientation of new staff. Evaluate and document staff competency directly related to the Core Competencies for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at least quarterly and as needed to meet AACVPR certification requirements. Coach staff as directed by the manager. Plan, assign, and review the work of staff. Demonstrate appropriate methods, procedures, and processes for staff to complete Phase 1, patient intakes, and Phase 2, Pritikin portal and registry entry and report extraction. Frequently review staff's work in progress to ascertain the level of expectation is met. Complete annual performance evaluations on staff that are informative while setting clear expectations regarding their delivery of care during the next evaluation period.

Plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate the implementation of interdisciplinary care for cardiac rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation patients, including the nurse, exercise physiologist, dietitian, and healthy mindset. Develop procedures for the compilation of medical information by utilizing the Cardiac Registry and Pritikin Portal to prepare and analyze reports to improve patient care outcomes. Schedule, assign, supervise, guide, and instruct staff in providing high-quality services including documentation and participation in patient case conferences based on educational preparation and clinical competence. Work with the operational team to improve/maintain patient satisfaction and facilitate continuous quality improvement while adhering to regulatory standards. Manage change with the use of huddle boards to address process improvement and technological innovations. Work collaboratively with the department Director and manager. Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure departmental coverage and continuity of care. Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of related experience.

One of the following:

--Missouri Board of Nursing LPN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state LPN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state LPNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.;

or --Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, or a related field;

or --Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure by the Missouri Respiratory Care board and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of related experience. Supervisory experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
