Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking for an experienced PeopleSoft Software Engineer. The person in this role will leverage their PeopleSoft expertise to lead enterprise-wide systems projects, including development and implementation of technology-based solutions. The Software Engineer will support and enhance PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Financial Management Systems, and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions as needed. In collaboration with multiple project professionals, both from the business and IT, the Software Engineer uses creativity and technical knowledge to bring new functionality and enhance existing customizations and applications to meet business needs. The person in this role will also have the opportunity to serve as a mentor to junior developers. Essential Functions 30% - Serves as technical subject matter expert for complex, highly-visible PeopleSoft projects, including application and system enhancements, hardware and software upgrades, development, testing, PUM updates 30% - Serves as technical lead over software development; ensures rigorous software development standards are established, enforced, and enhanced; develops code and leads the development planning process; refines Peoplesoft ERP's integrated systems 20% - Drafts, edits, and maintains technical documentation; collaborates with business analysts and business leads to refine functional documentation 10% - Researches software development standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies; makes recommendations for implementation; provides training, mentoring and guidance to staff, as assigned 10% - Performs related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, computer science, information science, engineering (any discipline), business (any discipline), computer programming, applied computing, software development, data science, database administration, mathematics (any discipline), statistics, cybersecurity, information security, network security, web development, database management, physics, economics, quantitative science, quantitative reasoning, logic and computation, or a related field and seven (7) years of technical experience in programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications. OR Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in any discipline, with a concentration (minor) or certificate (undergraduate or graduate) in a relevant/related discipline as listed above, or with a relevant industry certification related to information technology work, and seven (7) years of technical experience in programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications. OR An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certifications sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Experience designing, developing, supporting, and/or testing Oracle/PeopleSoft Human Management 9.2, Financial Management System 9.2, or Campus Solutions 9.2 2. Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Designer toolset (e.g. App Engine, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, People Code, Page/Component, Web Services) 3. Experience building integrations using PeopleSoft Integration Broker, REST/SOAP web services, or other relevant technologies 4. Experience with PeopleSoft Cobol and/or PeopleSoft Fluid Development 5. Experience leading PeopleSoft ERP initiatives 6.
