Nokia of America Corporation, Optical Technical Support Engineer (Multiple Positions), Murray Hill, NJ.

SALARY RANGE: $137,628 - 226,673/ year

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

Provide optical technical support, optical network by investigating, and reporting system level, software level or hardware level telecommunication network problems. Design optical network for customers using engineering planning tool which includes various generation of Re-configurable Optical add drop multiplier (ROADM) configurations for C and L band system which uses 100G and 500G cards for transmission. Diagnose and characterize product problems and symptoms prior to escalation to Research and Development (R&D) by replication product defects using lab equipment. Support product and suitable specialization in graduation and take part in technical discussions between the Technical Excellence Centre Engineering and Research and Development Teams. Perform in-depth testing of the hardware, including Optical Amplifier, and Transponders involved in the End-to-End long-haul communication. Assist in testing of the optical transponder and Optical payload analyzer. Provide analysis and diagnostics of complex customer networks of deployed 1830 optical control nodes. Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. #LI-DNI

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience, of which 5 years are post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 4 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience with the following: Optical terrestrial networks using WDM, SONET, SDH and OTN technology; OTN Networks; WDM qualification testing using Communication test equipment; OTN and WDM Colorless Contention-less Systems; and WDM Architecture and signal/lambda path analysis and troubleshooting.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Design or Implementation, testing and plan configurations with TOADM, FOADM, and ROADM including CDC, C+L, IROADM, and IROADM32.

Domestic travel is required up to 10%.

International travel is required up to 10%.
