Job Description: This role is focused on supporting the management and administration of various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) programs within the organization. The individual in this position will assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing sustainability and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and sustainability regulations. Additionally, this role will contribute to hazard assessments, audits, and the development of sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and proactive thinking to drive ESG and EHS improvements throughout the organization. Expected travel is 20-25% across the United States. Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in the creation and oversight of a centralized ESG program aimed at achieving the organization's sustainability and compliance goals. This will include evaluating current practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing new initiatives to drive sustainability across departments. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG priorities into business strategies. -Provide guidance on ESG reporting standards and frameworks, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
-Evaluate and compile emissions data from various sources within the company. Work with departments to capture and analyze Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions metrics, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals. -Work with the environmental team to identify opportunities for emissions reductions. -Prepare regular reports on emissions metrics for internal stakeholders and external audits.
-Ensure that the company adheres to federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and sustainability regulations. Actively monitor changes in environmental and safety laws, updating programs and practices as needed to maintain compliance. -Conduct regular reviews of EHS regulations and ensure policies reflect current standards. -Assist in preparing for audits and inspections related to environmental and safety compliance.
-Lead the completion of the annual Ecovadis and CDP assessments, ensuring timely submissions and accuracy. Collaborate with internal teams to gather the necessary data and documentation to meet the required standards for these sustainability evaluations. -Analyze the results of these assessments and recommend areas for improvement. -Communicate with external stakeholders to respond to any queries related to assessments.
-Collaborate with the Risk and Training department to promote safety initiatives across the organization. This includes participating in monthly OSHA safety meetings, preparing minutes, and identifying safety risks, assessing safety across the organization and developing enhanced protocols where appropriate. -Assist in the development of training materials for EHS initiatives. -Support the safety team by participating in safety audits and hazard assessments at job sites. -Travel as needed to various contract locations to aid in the development of safety initiatives and protocols in order to reduce work related injuries. Travel will be required 20-25% of the time.
-Develop and maintain a sustainability dashboard to track key ESG metrics and performance indicators. This tool will be used by internal stakeholders to measure progress toward sustainability goals and identify areas needing attention. -Regularly update the dashboard with accurate and timely data. -Work with data analytics teams to refine reporting capabilities and improve the overall quality of ESG data collection.
-Monitor ESG and safety practices within the security industry and related sectors. Research and assess competitor sustainability metrics to understand industry trends and benchmark the company's performance. -Create competitive reports to help inform strategy decisions on sustainability. -Stay current on sustainability innovations and regulatory changes affecting the security industry.
-Prepare and distribute monthly safety bulletins to all field officers, ensuring that they are informed of the latest safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory updates. -Provide educational content related to EHS initiatives and best practices. -Act as a liaison between the safety team and field officers to ensure clear communication of safety expectations.
