Summary

This position manages all kitchen activities including the supervisors and staff,of the MMC main kitchen. Work involves the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures and programs related to patient and non patient food production and service. Responsible for installing, updating, modifying and maintaining department applications and hardware across multiple campus. Performs a wide variety of technical tasks including backups, hardware and software project consulation and other tasks as needed. Position is main contact with MMC IS department for all hardware and software issues. Assists with creating and implementing Fiscal Year operating budget recommendations and projections. Serves as active member of the department menu committee.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: N/A
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: 5 or more years' successful experience in managing/supervising/working with a diverse group of departmental and interdepartmental employees, patients, visitors and customers.
  4. Knowledge of the principles of organization, financial management and personnel administration as related to food services.
  5. Proven ability to provide effective leadership in planning, directing and scheduling the work production necessary to meet multiple deadlines on a daily, weekly and yearly basis.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with patients and the general public.
  7. Working knowledge of food safety; sanitation principles; HACCP and retail/patient food services needed in a tertiary level acute care hospital. Position requires working knowledge of AIX, SQL, SYBASE, DOS and windows.
  8. Ability and skills to insure that managers and staff, on all campus, receive training and are skilled in use of a wide variety of software and hardware applications, to the level of standards set by the organization.
