UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapy team.

Our practice specializes in the care of patients with hematologic malignancies requiring bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapies. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in this collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Bone Marrow Transplant/CAR-T APP will provide direct care to outpatient populations, playing an essential role in managing complex cases.

In this position, the APP will work closely with a team of providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure the continuity and quality of care for patients, addressing both disease management and associated issues. The role offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapies while managing a panel of patients with malignant hematology conditions. This position emphasizes a team-based approach, fostering strong working relationships to enhance patient outcomes and promote ongoing professional growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing bone marrow transplant, and monitor patient progress throughout treatment and recovery.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with transplant physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver coordinated care to patients with hematologic malignancies.

  • Patient Education: Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding treatment options, post-transplant care, potential complications, and lifestyle management.

  • Research & Education: Participate in clinical research projects, contribute to academic initiatives, and engage in continuing education to stay current with advances in bone marrow transplantation.

  • Procedures & Follow-up Care: Assist with transplant-related procedures, monitor for potential complications, and manage follow-up care, including routine lab work and symptom management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant certification from an accredited program.

  • Licensure: Current NP or PA license in Massachusetts

  • Experience: Previous experience in hematology, oncology, or bone marrow transplant is strongly preferred, but not required.

  • Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
