SUMMARY

The Deposit Operations Data Analyst delivers actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within Deposit and Treasury Management Operations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a proactive approach to data-driven problem-solving.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Responsible for creating new, modifying existing, and performing ad-hoc reporting in support of business processes and data-driven decision-making. Must have the ability to create meaningful dashboards in Power BI and Excel.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Deposit & Treasury Management (TM) data.
  • Knowledge of data ingestion & ETL Processes in relation to SSMS
  • Work closely with Deposit & TM Operations Subject Matter Experts to understand business requirements, maintain thorough documentation, and obtain business sign-offs for all reporting needs, from daily working reports to high-level metrics.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns that provide actionable results.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
  • Validate data for correctness by verifying against requirements.
  • Research data errors and remediate poor data.
  • Develop and document strong data quality standards and controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Participate in the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze and confirm metrics are effective and provide feedback to department leaders on trends that require attention.
  • Support cross-functional projects by providing data-driven insights and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform duties as requested by the manager.
  • Complete all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adhere to all First United policies and procedures.
  • Dress professionally.

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2-5 years banking experience required.
  • Knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures required.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in Power BI, Power BI Report Builder, Power Query, SSRS, Alteryx, and SQL.
  • Proficient in ETL tools such, Power BI Dataflows, or other big data integrations.
  • Problem-solving through statistical analysis with large datasets is highly preferable.
  • Knowledge of DAX, SQL, Snowflake and M Code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong initiative in the development and timely completion of projects and deadlines.
  • Exhibit sound and ethical judgment.
  • Exceptional time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage workload.
  • Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity.
  • Willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
