What you'll do:

As the Inside Sales Specialist for Independent Truck Fitters (ITU) (a Shyft Brand) based in Roseville, MI, you will enjoy acquiring new business while also tending to the needs of our customer base.

Your primary focus will involve building and nurturing relationships with truck dealers, and fleet customers in your assigned market, including new chassis pools in effort to expand dealer sales and support. You will also be involved with selling products and services for upfit, mounting, and fabrication.

You will also:

  • Develop strong customer relationships
  • Manage inside sales activity for all fleet accounts
  • Answer calls, write quotes, and process orders
  • Build additional business through up-selling to current customers
  • Verify dealership inventory and suggest replacements
  • Participate in trade shows and company events to establish and maintain client relationships
  • Promote new sales opportunities through networking and client engagement at industry events
  • Document sales quotes for dealer inventory and units sold
  • Follow up with Production regarding the status of open orders
  • Provide dealerships with marketing brochures and sales tools
  • Handle customer complaints and warranty issues promptly and carefully
  • Meet regularly with end users and large fleet accounts to spec out vehicles and bodies
  • Call aftermarket vendors to get specifications and pricing information for quotations
  • Partner with the transportation to ensure that vehicles are delivered and picked up
  • Coordinate production processes and procedures with sales
  • Supporting the release and assignment of chassis to order specifications
  • Partner with engineers to obtain drawings for customers
  • Assist with various marketing projects as needed
  • Attend GM, Ford, and Dodge meetings for training purposes

What you need to be successful:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or 2-year degree in a business or technical field (Preferred), or equivalent sales experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in an Outside or Inside Sales Representative capacity
  • Knowledge of the automotive parts aftermarket, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Solid data entry skills
  • Typing speed of 45 wpm or greater
  • A track record of exceptional customer service
