Sustainment Test and Evaluation Engineer

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for the Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) module dependencies, including test design, detailed test procedure development, test execution, and reporting. You will use your extensive MPSS expertise to translate and apply knowledge of the suite of MPSS application modules to sustainment test design, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, troubleshooting, and deficiency analysis.

In this role, you'll provide leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force client. We support the acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. How You'll Contribute:

  • Provide SME support for MPSS module dependencies, including test design, detailed test procedure development, test execution, and reporting
  • Use MPSS expertise to translate and apply knowledge of MPSS application modules to sustainment test design and system configuration diagrams
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues
  • Author and deliver technical documentation, including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in MPSS and related systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and analyze results
  • Provide technical assessments to clients regarding system modifications and deficiencies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to support test and evaluation activities

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
  • 10+ years of experience with test processes and documentation
  • 4+ years of experience with MPSS, equipment, and troubleshooting
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
  • Ability to be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning and improvement
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices
  • Experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment
  • Experience operating or maintaining Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T)
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
