DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Associate (PSA) within the Corrections sector, your role will involve delivering psychological services under the direct clinical oversight of a Licensed Psychologist Manager to individuals incarcerated in a designated State Correctional Institution. This service aims to effectively address the mental health and emotional needs of inmates during their incarceration with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. You will collaborate with the Licensed Psychologist Manager in the planning and organization of outpatient mental health and psychological services at the State Correctional Institution, which includes the creation and implementation of Individual Recovery Plans for patients. Under the supervision of the Licensed Psychologist Manager, you may administer psychological and intelligence assessments as necessary. Additionally, you will conduct mental status examinations and prepare psychological evaluations regularly. Your responsibilities will also encompass providing both individual and group therapy for inmates diagnosed with mental health disorders, those convicted of sex offenses, individuals with dual diagnoses, and general population inmates requiring crisis intervention services. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors. Documentation will need to be provided at interview to receive additional pay consideration.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field, which includes fifteen graduate level credits in psychology, counseling, educational counseling, rehabilitation, human development, learning, or motivation.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
