DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining proper security for a group of inmates at SCI Camp Hill. Within this role, you will be responsible for ensuring work is performed under safe operating procedures for boiler operations and the generation of medium pressure steam for heat and hot water for institutional needs. This professional operates and maintains auxiliary equipment such as feedwater pumps, condensate pumps, chemical feed pumps, forced draft fans, and control equipment, in addition to testing boiler water chemistry and the water softening system. - Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
- Work schedule varies and consists of rotating shifts and days off. Possible shifts include 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
