About The Field Research Unit (FRU)

The Field Research Unit (FRU) at Cornell AgriTech offers essential support to faculty, staff, and students involved in field research. FRU oversees the management of land, field facilities, and equipment dedicated to field research activities. Their services encompass a range of tasks such as site preparation, fertilization, and pesticide applications, focusing on the maintenance and provision of resources for research conducted in Cornell AgriTech field plots.

At Cornell AgriTech, located in Geneva, NY, we are seeking a part-time Office Coordinator to join our Field Research Unit (FRU) and provide essential support to our dedicated team of researchers. As an Office Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our research facilities, enabling our faculty to deliver high-quality results.

What We Need

A resume and cover letter are required for further consideration.

  • High school diploma with one year related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook calendaring.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Must be able to compile, analyze, and report on complex data.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a broad range of people.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure, use judgment in accomplishing tasks that are urgent or of a sensitive or confidential nature; balance conflicting priorities, interpret policies, and make decisions from a range of choices.
  • Demonstrated ability to give and receive feedback, communicate, listen, respect others, set priorities and achieve them, and use time effectively.
  • Must be highly motivated and exhibit innovation, good judgment, and reliability in the workplace.
  • Work with other staff as a member of a team to resolve issues and achieve common goals.
  • Provide and promote service to internal and external customers.

  • Associate's degree or higher with up to 3 years of administration experience
  • Experience in invoicing and billing and account reconciliation
