JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the planning, development, and execution of resources and strategies that support and drive the client's Marketing functional area. They will serve as the liaison between the Syneos Health functions and units that they oversee and the client. The Marketing Manager will work across the Syneos Health organization in tandem with other business units (e.g., advisory, agency, field) by collaborating both internally and with the client to deliver integrated commercial solutions. The Marketing Manager will identify appropriate resources to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective mix of talent to drive business performance and results, ultimately optimizing client ROI. The Marketing Manager will collaborate on strategy, implement launch plans, and collaborate with people or ad communication workstreams. This role requires attention to details, strong follow through, client focus, and the ability to influence win-win outcomes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be the client's primary point of contact for designated ad communications projects/ activities
  • Act as a role model with embracing and operationalizing the Full-Service Commercial Model.
  • Support senior client management and implementing strategies and tactics that are aligned with the best interest of the client
  • Take ownership of target project P&L: Work closely with the client partner to ensure business planning timelines and due dates are synchronized with the financial business calendar and ensure all internal stakeholders are informed on a consistent basis.
  • Ensure all assigned activities and deliverables are completed with the highest quality work, on time, and on budget.
  • Monitor and report on performance/progress of assigned marketing activities aligned to the brand
  • Anticipate client needs and issues before they occur and collaborate to develop effective solutions.
  • Participate in weekly Marketing functional sub-team meetings to discuss program status, major milestones, and key deliverables to ensure that timing is well planned and met for all open activities and ensure that all necessary stakeholders are informed of progress and changes
  • Work collaboratively with other Functional Leads and the overall Medical and Commercial Leads to manage client and internal stakeholder relationships and effectively manage Commercial Program scope and delivery
  • Work with the Program Management and Operations (PMO) function to ensure proper reporting and real-time tracking of all marketing function activities and deliverables
  • Work with the Program Finance team to effectively develop and manage the functional area budget
  • Apply own knowledge and operational experience as required to ensure quality and successful delivery throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Support development of Senior Leadership and ad-hoc presentations and training as needed.
  • As appropriate, this role provides support for work delegated to additional vendor partners (outside of Syneos) to ensure quality and timely completion of deliverables or provision of services.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED FOR MARKETING MANAGER

  • Execute the marketing strategy and commercial launch plan. This includes aligning with the brand/product strategy, forecast, tactics, key deliverables and market development
  • Implement assigned marketing activities across the account; incorporating Medical Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Omnichannel, and Digital
  • Act as the supporting client contact for all assigned marketing strategy and deliverables
  • Exhibit effective management across different Syneos Business Units and marketing disciplines
  • Help the client to evolve and improve their marketing strategy, through research and insights of the competitor landscape and ensure internal capabilities are aligned across Syneos
  • Work closely with the Commercialization Lead and Head of Medical Affairs to ensure that assigned marketing activities are aligned with Medical narrative and Medical Affairs deliverables
  • Support working relationships with external KOLs to support the client launch
  • Support implementation of promotional speaker training programs and drive ongoing engagement with HCP speakers throughout the year
  • Support advisory panels with thought leaders to gather deep market insights to support the launch
  • Support commercial strategy and activities at key congresses and meetings, including disease/product theaters, conference booths, and conference sponsorships
  • Support omni-channel CRM and media strategies including digital marketing strategies and programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Training and Sales Leadership to align and optimize field sales effectiveness with respect to implementation and pull-through of brand strategies and tactics

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred with 5 years related work experience
  • At least 2 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience
  • Proven success working across a variety of marketing disciplines including but not limited to PR, CRM, Lifecycle Development, Advertising, Digital, Media, and Medical Communications.
  • Proven experience within a complex and heavily matrixed environment required
  • Ability to understand pharmaceutical industry and healthcare system trends, financial data, customer insights and needs and be able to translate competitive intelligence data into meaningful short- and long-term actions.
  • Prior launch experience in target therapeutic area - client specific therapeutic area experience and Global Launch Experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated commercial ability and business acumen, including strategic and tactical planning and execution.
  • Experience building and managing toward consensus based on varied stakeholder priorities
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others to achieve mutual objectives both within Syneos, external partners, and the client.
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
  • Financial acumen and the ability to read, understand, and manage functional area financials is critical
  • Performance and Program Metrics Focus
  • Ability to convert strategy to actionable tactical plans and develop high performing operational teams
  • Proven track record of delivering business objectives in a matrixed environment
  • Strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence in order to effectively lead through change
  • Strong work ethic attributes to follow direction, anticipate needs, constructively resolve issues
  • Effective cross- functional project team membership and influencing skills
  • Effective interactions with internal & external customers and stakeholders to drive success
  • The ability to work in a comparable time zone to the client is required.
  • Ability to travel as needed
