Dover Behavioral Health is a mental health facility located in Dover, DE. Our treatment center provides mental health and addiction treatment services to individuals from Delaware, Maryland, and most other states throughout the US. Our experienced, caring professionals are the heart of what we do, providing superior inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare services for adolescents and adults. Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a dynamic and talented Cook. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high quality service to patients, staff, and visitors through the preparation and serving of meals and keeping the dining area clean. This position is a full-time (32 hours per week) position with some weekends and holidays required.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of the Dietary Director, prepare hot and cold foods via documented recipes and production sheets
  • While providing excellent customer service, quickly, neatly, and accurately portion foods on customers' plates or in approved packaging
  • Take, record, and monitor food temperatures of food items and the equipment that create those temperatures
  • Accept and reconcile deliveries and put away stock
  • Maintain food production and work areas ensuring that they remain clean and sanitized at all times
  • Maintain the front and back of the kitchen areas to sanitation standards as required by regulatory and state agencies
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain the cafeteria and dining room equipment
  • Maintain adequate supply to the self-service items and ensure the items are properly displayed
  • Transport trash to disposal or holding area to maintain a clean kitchen; Maintains compactor containers and trash cart in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; One year experience in the food service industry; Hospital experience preferred.
