The successful candidate will be eligible for appointment to the Robert and Kelly Day Endowed Chair in Cardiac Surgery. The Division of Cardiac Surgery provides consultative and therapeutic services for the surgical treatment of cardiac and cardiopulmonary diseases. We offer a full complement of cardiac services for acquired heart disease, congenital heart disease, aortic surgery, and cardiac and pulmonary transplantation. We have expertise in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, and we are a UCLA Health Designated Center of Excellence in Mitral Valve Repair Surgery. We have strong collaborations with cardiology, vascular surgery, pulmonary medicine, anesthesiology and thoracic surgery. The Chief of Cardiac Surgery will provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Division to advance the cardiac surgery program at Ronald Reagan and affiliated hospitals and lead the strategic growth of an academic surgical division in clinical care, education, research, and community outreach. Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs. The candidate must possess an M.D. degree or equivalent, be ABTS board eligible/certified or equivalent, and be eligible for California medical licensure.
