Job Purpose

Manage and administer Auto Development Center created engineering drawings and design changes through Honda's Change Management Processes. The associate will develop, configure, verify and dispense technical data that will be used for engineering and manufacturing of new and existing automobiles.Maintain new model schedules, by actively supporting all Auto Development Center Design Engineering teams to deliver technical drawings on schedule by providing technical expertise in the area of Bill of Material management

Key Accountabilities

  • Change Management

    • Handling, understanding of, and verifying the accuracy of different forms of technical data used for automotive development: Technical Drawings, Application Lists, DPM structures to administer engineering changes in Honda Global BOM system (NEWS) Perform detailed analysis into technical data retrieved from multiple systems to investigate and identify the root cause of application & structure errors. Must then identify a path forward for resolution. Facilitate/support all ADC design groups to understand and abide by Global and Regional Engineering/Operation rules to ensure on time design change delivery. Document errors in Design Changes/Drawings for feedback to designers. Manage regional system for Mass Production customer document change review process.


  • Trouble Shooting

    • Support Design and Goken team members with Design system ( HES, NEWs, AHEAD) issues, access requests and general questions.


  • Global/Regional drawing release schedule co-ordination/correlation

    • Manage project drawing release plan versus actual and follow-up with designer on drawings not meeting scheduled release timing. Communicate drawing release status weekly to NM PLs for analysis of late drawing release E side impacts. Track activity for Honda Global Rule Changes between 4MOC and all ADC design departments


  • Business Plan Theme Execution

    • Leading/participating a team in the execution of strategic business initiatives. Team will develop & manage a schedule to meet department, division, or company milestones. Theme work may include: process maps, calculations of benefits/ efficiency, time studies, or multi department collaboration. Teams report status monthly/quarterly to management to communicate/share progress on theme.


  • System access

    • Manage access requests and issues for all Design management systems.




Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • College degree BAS, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 0-2 years of experience with managing technical Product Lifecycle Mgmt. data (Change management, Drawings, BOM application/structure)


  • Recognize and demonstrate knowledge of BOM/Parts List Check procedure.
  • Recognize and demonstrate knowledge of Specification Notice Procedures issuance/ management. (D/C and MI)
  • Recognize & demonstrate Honda Engineering Standards Knowledge.
  • Recognize & demonstrate CATIA Knowledge.
  • Recognize & demonstrate new model development flow knowledge.
  • Recognize & demonstrate data modelling knowledge.
  • Recognize & demonstrate product maker layout flow knowledge.
  • Understand importance of technical data quality accuracy and integration.
  • Part Structure Knowledge.
  • Excel (macro knowledge a +), PowerPoint.

Decisions Expected

  • Daily work prioritization - Understand overall project schedules, upcoming events (New project kick-offs, Drawing issue freeze timing, Mass Production Transfer), to set a work plan to achieve KPI targets. Identify issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Utilize multiple technical data sources in different systems, NEWS BOM, DPM Application, technical drawing structure, to identify and analyze issues in Design BOM, and solve problems (E.g. designer has listed incorrect part numbers in the structure of a drawing) in a timely manner.

Working Conditions

  • Virtual - Work from home 60%, Work in a Open office environment 40%. OT needed during peak drawing issue timings. Travel is very rare, but can include Honda's NA Mfg. Plants and Japan.
