JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Mathematics, in the Eberly College of Science, has vacancies available for Lead Mathematics Learning Assistants (LAs) during the Spring 2025 semester. Lead Mathematics LAs will all work under the supervision of the Mathematics Learning Assistants Program coordinators to help mentor and provide support to new mathematics LAs, observe evening sessions for the course they serve as a lead LA, and meet with the Mathematics Learning Assistants Program coordinators. Lead Mathematics LA will also work in one of the three capacities:
The selected candidates will work up to 10 hours per week as follows:
The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical background in Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations, experience assisting students in group work settings, strong communication skills, and an interest in facilitating students' learning of mathematics.
