REPRODUCTIVE LAB TECHNICIAN I: REI, DAYS (M-F)

Shift: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional off-hour needs for maintaining quality monitoring systems or weekend fertility cycles.
Department: REI clinic - Reproductive Health and Fertility
Compensation:

* Base Pay Range: $16.68 - $26.31 per hour, based on experience



ABOUT THE JOB

Process specimens, test performance, and report test results for the Embryology or Andrology laboratories. Perform only those tests authorized and documented on competency assessment. Strictly follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, recordkeeping, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines. Adhere to lab QC policies. Follow established policies and procedures when test systems deviate from the laboratory performance specifications. Exercise discretion with patient communication and maintain the confidentiality of patient information. Document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Document any corrective actions taken and inform the appropriate individual so a follow-up investigation can ensue as needed. Assist with document control and record maintenance. Maintain chain of custody for all specimens. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the appropriate individual. Monitor laboratory inventory and assist in ordering supplies and consumables. Assist with document control and record maintenance as needed. Assist with compiling program statistics as needed. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree (or equivalent credit hours) from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program, clinical laboratory science, medical science, chemistry, biology, or physics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Embryology or andrology lab experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
