Job Title: Technical Architect Consultant

Job Overview: As Technical Architect, you will lead the innovation of key functionality and operations delivery for the assigned account business. This role will work with senior leaders in delivering innovation services with a focus on providing relevant solutions, educating, and building awareness with end users, and driving adoption across the enterprise. The Technical Architect will lead and work on dynamic teams to deliver the most challenging and complex solutions for Data Center and Cloud transformation teams within several multi-cloud platforms. You will partner closely with the Account Sr. Director to optimize the utilization of resources to meet the strategic objectives of the business. Our goal is to ensure that our solutions are comprehensive, innovative, and future proof with a very clear ROI for our customers. The Technical Architect will report directly to the Account Sr. Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architecture framework, standards, governance principles, and provide strategic guidance on technology acquisition and lifecycle management.
  • Lead managers, architects, and IT professionals through guidance, coaching, and support to ensure assignments are completed in accordance with established guidelines, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate and provide strategic guidance to key stakeholders, department heads, and senior management on enterprise architecture and technology-related matters.
  • Facilitate the creation and inform the enterprise architecture strategy with actionable roadmaps.
  • Create a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and lead teams through periods of change and transformation.
  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and measurement of IT systems.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of large or complex projects and oversee progression while ensuring the department program portfolio is managed effectively.
  • Manage the department budget and financial resources.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of vendors, review of contracts, and management of vendor relationships.
  • Partner effectively with 3rd party service firms in support of the EA agenda and as enablers to the broader IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on the development of the technology capability roadmap.
  • Collaborate on the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards1.
  • Collaborate with management on the design of an organizational structure and operating model to meet business objectives.
  • Responsible for recruitment, development, retention, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Recommend and use new technologies to improve work for all employees and executives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience required.
  • 5+ years managing first-level leaders and high-level professional staff required.
  • 6+ years of experience in technical IT architect capacity preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing an Enterprise Architecture function preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure solutions preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and emerging technologies such as generative AI and its applications preferred.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools, graphical modeling approaches, and repository management preferred.
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost/benefit tradeoff analysis, risk management, business ecosystems, to include "as a service" preferred.

Other Key Characteristics:

  • ITIL, TOGAF, Agile, SAFe, PMI, Organization Change Management, and Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector and State, Local and Education agencies, including government-related standards and regulations preferred.
  • Minimal travel for onsite delivery of strategic plans.
