Job Overview:

We have an immediate opening for an experienced and passionate Assistant Restaurant & Retail Manager to oversee our daily operations in the Alfresco Market. You will be responsible for tracking inventory and ordering supplies, managing daily preparation of menu items, scheduling staff to ensure there is sufficient coverage during each shift, and monitoring the flow of business during each meal service. Experience, including supervisory roles, and is reliable and trustworthy.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist the store manager in realizing or exceeding determined sales plans and target metric objectives.

Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise on counter or tables to promote sales.

Maintain proper inventory controls, facilitate inventory transaction, and bulk count as guided by senior management.

Opening and closing the Restaurant/Market.

Appointing, inducting, and mentoring new staff members.

Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations.

Purchasing retail products and and consumable goods.

Sourcing better deals on all resources and equipment that warrant replacing or replenishing.

Recording all income and expenses and ensuring that cash registers are balanced.

Research new wholesale food suppliers and negotiate prices

Manage and store vendors' contracts and invoices

Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff

Prepare shift schedules

Process payroll for all restaurant/market staff

Supervise kitchen and wait staff and provide assistance, as needed

Keep detailed records of daily, weekly and monthly costs and revenues.

Qualifications:



  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a two-years college or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • No special licenses required.
  • One-year front office management experience preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred


Experience:

Food & Beverage managerial and/or supervisory experience required; two years preferred.
