JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications Development Data Operations and Publishing Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate loading, provisioning, certification, and publishing of data to meet organizational needs. This role oversees the end-to-end data operations lifecycle, including managing data releases and maintaining the integrity and reliability of data assets. The manager leads a team dedicated to maintaining robust operational processes, enabling seamless data delivery, and collaborating across teams to ensure data is accessible, aligned with business objectives, and ready for actionable use.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a hands-on manager, lead and mentor a team of data operations professionals.
  • Oversee daily data operations, ensuring smooth workflows and minimal disruptions.
  • Establish and monitor processes for data provisioning and delivery to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage data refresh schedules and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Lead the publishing of datasets, dashboards, and reports to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure published data assets meet quality, consistency, and accessibility standards.
  • Identify and implement improvements in data operations and publishing workflows.
  • Leverage automation and tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to align publishing efforts with business needs in support of enabling self-service capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative environment focused on delivering stakeholder value.
  • Allocate resources effectively to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Drives continuous improvement of delivery processes, standards, and practices, increased efficiency, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.
  • Drives recruitment, evaluation, motivation, development, promotion, develops performance requirements, and evaluates staff.
  • Develops systems support policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with industry best practices and optimizes operational activities to drive efficiency and achieve continuous improvement while supporting customer service agreements.
  • Monitors and oversees initiatives and deliverables including but not limited to completion of comprehensive definition of direction, scope and objectives; development of work plans, schedules and budgets; determination of staffing requirements; definition of deliverables; and establishment of design review and quality assurance checkpoints for all aspects of the initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 1+ years supervisory/management
  • At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a high priority on listening to others
  • Expertise in the Power BI product suite/Snowflake/Matillion/Azure or similar products or platforms is desired
  • Ability to practice empathy and build trust amongst the team
  • Ability to research and maintain current and emerging technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology
  • Highly knowledgeable in preparing business plans, IT plans, technology roadmaps, and technical project proposals
  • Knowledge in preparing and managing budgets
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and recommend the right solutions in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrated use of ingenuity and creativity by taking actions to direct the analyses and solutions of problems
  • Knowledge of systems development life cycle, including the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple initiatives and deliverables utilizing SAFe Agile, SCRUM, or other appropriate development methodologies
  • Ability to recruit, retain and develop a team
  • Demonstrates a Lean Agile Mindset

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
