ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:



    • For Service, Technical Support, Marketing & Sales Roles: Additional compensation is available through either an Incentive and/or Commission Plan.
    • For Employees residing in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and California: Additional compensation is offered through a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).





POSITION SUMMARY:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a National Key Account Manager to join our team! This critical role is responsible for managing relationships with Shimadzu's most strategic key accounts across North America. In this role, you will be the driving force in developing and executing strategies to grow business, foster long-term partnerships and ensure our customer needs are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sales, strategic account management and business development within the analytical instrumentation or life sciences industry.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



  • Manage and strengthen relationships with assigned global key accounts, ensuring customer needs are met and driving business growth.
  • Collaborate with the GKA group at Shimadzu Corporation Japan to develop and implement tailored strategies for key accounts, including action plans and sales initiatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities within key accounts and lead efforts to increase Shimadzu's market presence.
  • Develop joint research collaborations and support customers in the development of new analytical methods.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with Shimadzu's internal teams.
  • Lead account-based marketing efforts and work with cross-functional teams to create and deliver content that engages key accounts.
  • Provide regular reports on account activities, market trends, and performance metrics.
  • Travel as necessary to meet with customers, attend meetings, and represent Shimadzu at industry events.
  • Share key account insights and success stories across Shimadzu to foster internal collaboration and growth.
  • Address customer issues or conflicts, working with internal teams to find quick and effective resolutions.



EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 6 years of sales or business development experience within the life sciences, instrumentation, or biotechnology industries.
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation and its applications in various industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically to solve complex business challenges.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with international colleagues.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including overnight and air travel as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is an exempt, full-time position that is eligible for benefits. Shimadzu offers 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays in the first year of employment. After one year, employees are eligible for a generous short-term disability program, which complies with FMLA regulations, with the company covering 100% of the monthly premiums. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66.67% of their salary for weeks 7-12.

The starting salary range for this position is $135,000 to $138,000 annually, with compensation paid on a semi-monthly, exempt salaried basis. Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on company and service performance, paid semi-annually in April and October. A discretionary year-end bonus may also be provided based on overall company performance.
