The Availability Cloud at Salesforce is accountable for ensuring all products deliver critically important availability so that our customers can exceed the expectations of their customers. The Availability Data & Analytics team provides service owners the data, insights, analytics and AI-based frameworks to easily handle their products with high availability. We enable teams throughout Salesforce to deeply understand and optimize their respective areas through premier analytics and easily consumable data. You will build end to end data solutions to support many different business units at Salesforce. You will work with Incident Response to take a breadth of structured and unstructured data and derive real time insights to handle live incidents. You will define the right data models and build pipelines to capture real time customer availability data across all Salesforce customers and their infrastructure that powers everything from board level reporting to daily operational decisions by service owning teams. You will shape AI/ML Ops strategies and contribute to Salesforce being the #1 AI-CRM company in the world.

You are a full stack software technical engineering leader that has had a career designing and delivering critically important, real-time services. You iterate quickly, learn and iterate again. You consistently break through obstacles, work horizontally and turn "hard, sophisticated" problems into bite-sized, easily tractable solutions. You are a product leader, defining the technical strategy, digging into the math behind a dashboard because the data matters. Communication is a strength, both written and live. You are an inspirational, technical leader who scales their scope of impact across their team to do phenomenal things.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for availability ML and IA data and analytics to accelerate Salesforce's mission to deliver customer availability.

  • Deliver the design and execution of real time business critical services that safely operate the eco-system of Salesforce services at scale.

  • Work across a breadth of customers and service owners to design, build and operate real-time AI/ML based capabilities that are responsible for service availability, incident response and service operations.

  • As a versatile leader you will flex multiple roles - defining product strategy, technical architecture, and directly deliver ML/AI code.. You will partner with many different customers to understand business outcomes and availability outcomes to guide strategy and approach.

  • Build the ML/AI practice and center of perfection for the CCRE/Availability group.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development

  • 3+ years of AI/ML engineering techniques and technologies

  • Domain expert in system and application level observability. Deep understanding of service availability, distributed systems architecture and service operations management standard methodologies.

  • Communication and leadership experience, with experience initiating and driving projects tied to business outcomes

  • Experience building real time. low-latency services

  • Experience defining data models, data architecture and data engineering practices

  • Experience in SQL or similar languages.

  • Development experience in at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, C/C++ etc.).

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau and Grafana

  • Python, go-lang experience

  • Experience working with AWS native technologies

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $204,400 to $296,400. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $223,000 to $323,400. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
