The Electronic Component Engineer supports engineering, ensuring components are reliable and effective, find alternate sources, and track component qualifications. This individual will be responsible for library management, strategic sourcing and establishing standards for components with development teams.
Position Responsibilities:
* CAD Library Development and Management.
* Review bill of material (BOM's) for obsolescence.
* Support design teams in the selection of electronic components.
* Drive qualification for end of life (EOL)/obsolete component solutions.
* Investigate and promote alternative solutions.
* Facilitate communication and interaction between suppliers and design teams and between Sechan Procurement and Sechan Engineering.
* Manage approved vendor lists. Manage / create standard processes where needed.
* Conduct part lifecycle analysis.
* Flag inaccurate component specification data and correct the enterprise resource planning tool.
* Administer engineering change databases related to electronic components.
* Performs other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.
Skills & Abilities:
* Experience monitoring critical component obsolescence status and initiating critical action as required based upon component manufacturer change notifications.
* Experience identifying and qualifying alternative components that are form, fit, and function interchangeable with existing sources.
* Working knowledge of electronic component functionality, application, fabrication and construction techniques, and critical specifications that affect performance and reliability.
* Knowledge of ESD, MSL, RoHS, and REACH electronic component compliance requirements and impact on component sourcing.
* Proficiency with MS Office tools and ability to work with electronic databases such as IHS CAPS+4D Enterprise Solution.
* Experience with electronic CAD (schematic entry and PWB layout) preferred.
Qualifications:
* Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
* A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training in electronics.
* Ability to obtain and retain a Department of Defense security clearance.
* DoD experience is a plus
Work Environment:
* Office Environment: Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Hours: 7:30 AM - 5 PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations.
* 9/80 work schedule.
* Office located in Lititz, PA.
