Position Summary
The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences,
Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivated
individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is
to address health care disparities through: health services research and
evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through
increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic,
cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.

CBH is seeking a Sr. Statistician to perform data analyses,
descriptive statistics, and statistical modeling on numerous, concurrent
Division projects and research. This position will routinely provide
consultation and guidance to principal investigators and stakeholders regarding
study design and analyses. The qualified candidate should have in-depth
knowledge of and demonstrated experience with: behavioral health or human
services-related research and statistics; quantitative and qualitative research
and analyses; database and survey creation tools; data analysis software, such
as SPSS, R, and SAS; Smartsheet and Excel; syntax and data coding; dealing
with large data sets and missing data; descriptive statistics, bivariate and
multivariate analyses; development of research questions; development of data
analysis plans; and various types of data reporting and manuscript preparation,
including narrative reporting, for academic and non-academic dissemination. The
desired candidate is responsible, reliable and self-motivated; flexible and
goal-oriented with demonstrated follow-through. Excellent administrative,
organizational and communication skills, as well as research ethics, are a
must.

Duties of this position include: supporting the Division's
Statistics Team; supporting numerous faculty, staff and project partners with
respect to their data-related needs; assisting with study implementation
designs and statistical analyses plans and grant writing; program evaluation;
evaluation research design; database creation, data collection and quality
assurance; statistical reporting and more. This position will work on numerous
projects and reports as the need arises. This position will work
collaboratively with a diverse, multidisciplinary team serving a wide variety
of stakeholders. This is a term, full time, benefits eligible position. This is
not a remote position, but may work remotely at times.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a statistics related field
  • Proficient in data analysis software, such as SPSS, SAS,
    R, Python, Tableau, Smartsheet, and Excel
  • In-depth understanding of quantitative and qualitative
    analyses
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical reporting,
    including narrative reports and manuscript preparation, for academic and
    non-academic dissemination
  • Familiarity with REDCAP, Qualtrics, and other data
    collection tools
