Summary:
The WISH Licensed Clinical Social Worker evaluates the psychosocial status of students and works with those students experiencing mental, emotional and/or behavioral health issues. The WISH LCSW conducts individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions. Based on the mental health assessment, the WISH LCSW forms diagnoses and develops treatment plans with a goal of improving attendance, school success, and overall quality of life. The WISH LCSW works closely with other WISH teammates, student families and the Manager of WISH to ensure student mental health needs are met.
Responsibilities:
- Collects information by interview, screening, and assessment to assist adolescents with emotional, behavioral, social, and family issues or concerns.
- Makes appropriate diagnosis and develops the treatment plan and goals with input from the student.
- Conducts effective individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, teaching problem-solving strategies and social and communication skills.
- Has knowledge of adolescent stages of development and psychosocial needs in planning goals and activities for students.
- Provides ongoing feedback of psychosocial assessment to student and/or parent as appropriate.
- Documents visit information according to established guidelines and protocols.
- Securely submits visit information for insurance billing.
- Communicates with persons of various backgrounds and cultures and works cooperatively with WISH Center teammates.
- Shares information about students with WISH teammates and school staff based on the Health Information Portability and Accountability Privacy Rule (HIPAA) Act of 1996.
- Functions independently keeping the Manager, WISH aware of any obstacles encountered.
- Is familiar with community resources available to students and the various insurance and financial requirements needed to access resources.
- Is sensitive to both traditional and nontraditional families and different cultural norms and provides assistance based on these differences.
- Recognizes emergency situations and makes appropriate referrals for the safety of the student.
- Always presents and promotes a professional demeanor, establishing high standards of customer service. Supports responsibility, pride, and teamwork, remains calm under pressure, and offers reasonable solutions for problems.

- Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work
Licensure/Certification
- Licensed in Clinical Social Work (LCSW)
Experience
- At least 2 years of social work experience preferred
