Position Summary:

The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist coordinates, produces, and facilitates developed training programs for leaders and individual contributors within the organization, as well as updates and reviews all content and materials. This position maintains accurate records in our learning management system (LMS) and employee files, monitors employee progress, generates reports, and ensures that employees are enrolled in required and relevant training in a timely manner.

Day in the life: In a typical day, the L&D Specialist...



  • Training Coordination:

    • Coordinates details of HR & Risk training initiatives, including but not limited to: creating an annual training calendar, coordinating employee registration, developing communication plans, managing technology integration, overseeing materials distribution, ensuring adequate space allocation, and handling all associated factors for seamless training execution
    • Maintains accurate employee records of learning and development activities, attendance, and assessments
    • Facilitates full participation and successful completion of essential leadership courses for new people leaders within their first year
    • Monitors learning and development tickets, ensuring they are responded to in a timely and accurate manner


  • Training Facilitation:

    • Produces live internal training sessions, supporting internal and external presenting partners and learners with technology
    • Delivers training using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos
    • Partners with L&D Sr. Specialist to evaluate and update training and content as needed


  • LMS Support:

    • Uploads and organizes HR & Risk training content within the LMS
    • Ensures that content is current, accurate, and aligned with learning objectives.
    • Enrolls users in relevant courses and training programs
    • Monitors and tracks employee progress and completion
    • Generates reports on completion rates, and other relevant metrics
    • Conducts regular audits to ensure data accuracy and system integrity





Job Pay & Perks:



  • Pay range: $27.38 - $37.04 hourly
  • This is a flexible-hybrid role that must be based in the Twin Cities 7 County Metropolitan Area, whose essential functions allow the employee to primarily work from a personal home office but also require the employee to work at a physical GESMN or partner facility as business needs require, sometimes with great urgency and little notice.

    About You:

    Required Knowledge & Skills:



    • Training Facilitation: Produce and deliver live training sessions in various formats
    • Time Management: manage time effectively to ensure all tasks and projects are completed on time and with high-quality results
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of training activities
    • Effective Communication: Convey information clearly and concisely via written and verbal communication.
    • Collaborative: Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on-time and high-quality end products
    • Customer Service: Prioritize an excellent customer experience
    • Adaptability: Handle other duties as assigned and adapt to changing circumstances
    • Reliable Judgement: Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and escalate issues when appropriate



    Prior Experience & Education:



    • At least one year of facilitation experience is required, with preference given to facilitation experience in both virtual and in-person formats
    • Experience in event planning and coordination required, including but not limited to scheduling, creating promotional materials, registration, and attendance * At least one year of experience managing high-volume and detailed records is required
    • One year of experience performing basic administrative functions (creating events, uploading training materials, marking attendance, verifying training records, etc.) in a learning management system preferred
    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in training and work experience
