* Base Pay Range: $19.15 - $32.23, based on experience



ABOUT THE JOB

The Coordinator, Volunteer Services, UH organizes key components of the volunteer services program within the organization, including volunteer placement, training, and programming to assist staff, patients, and visitors optimally. This role is responsible for recruiting and onboarding volunteers, designing and conducting orientation, training, mentoring, and supervising volunteers.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Coordinates the volunteer program by communicating with potential and established volunteers, managing schedules, and creating and executing orientation. Communicates with applicants throughout the vetting process and completes volunteer onboarding by tracking compliance with staff health requirements, background checks, training, and any other prerequisites for assignment. Identifies and plans ongoing training sessions as needed.

Interacts with volunteers and colleagues in a respectful, professional, encouraging, and collaborative manner, by creating an approachable and professional environment. Assists volunteers with their day-to-day duties and makes changes as necessary to best support the needs of the organization.

Collaborates with management and department stakeholders to plan and implement training programs needed to develop and maintain the knowledge and skillset needed to provide effective support throughout various specialty areas.

Remains current on regulations affecting volunteers and ensures continuous organizational compliance. Maintains volunteer files to provide to surveyors upon request.

Assists with planning, organizing, and completing volunteer recognition events.

Oversees and maintains the volunteer database.

Maintains accurate inventory of office supplies and orders supplies as needed.

Acts as a liaison to the MU Auxiliary.

Assists with managing programs within Volunteer Services' scope, such as WAGS, VolunTeens, and Ronald McDonald Room.

May complete department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in marketing, education, communications, public health, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.

One (1) year of experience in volunteer board development, strategic planning, and coordination of special events planning, outreach education, or alumni/volunteer relations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
