Position Summary

The
University of New Mexico Student Health & Counseling clinic (SHAC) is
recruiting for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Medical Lab Technologist to
work PART-TIME (20 hours weekly) in the SHAC Laboratory.

The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at the
center of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary, and mental health
services and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage,
acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. Other medical
services provided are same day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations,
and sports medicine.

This position, under general supervision, performs routine
tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment
of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Must maintain certification status.


Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours including 6 semester hours of Biology and 6 semester hours of Chemistry; no experience required. Certification/Licensure: CLA (ASCP) certification, OR completion of accredited MLT program or military med lab training course, OR 3 years of acceptable clinical lab experience. OR MLT Certification.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
