Job Summary The Supervisor, Warehouse is responsible for handling supervisory level activities for one or more areas of the warehouse including: shipping, picking & packing, receiving, inventory control, warehousing and distribution functions for raw materials, in-process goods, released finished products and supplies. Warehouse Supervisor in the Little Rock facility is also responsible for pest control management and calibration/preventive maintenance of equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise all warehouse and inventory control activities including receiving, storage, and shipment of raw materials or finished goods;
- Maintain inventory accuracy; manage cycle counts and timely reconciliation of count variances;
- Responsible for material movement and goods and maintenance of inventory control records;
- Kitting jobs to the production floor and properly storing all items manufactured or received;
- Directly or through subordinates, unpack and check incoming goods and materials and/or preparing goods for shipping;
- Organize process management teams within manufacturing and customer service; identify areas in need of improvement and implement change; Continuously monitor and report on improvements in each area;
- Responsible for verifying quantities of incoming or outgoing goods against purchase/sales order;
- Ensure accurate addressing and preparation of bills of lading and for packing goods to be shipped;
- Handle Receiving, Warehousing and Distribution function for raw materials, in-process goods and released finished products;
- Coordinate and balance workloads across various functions;
- Manage cross training of all warehouse team members;
- Conduct weekly team meetings/briefings;
- Ensure good housekeeping in warehouse;
- Manage and monitor pest control activities, when applicable;
- Conduct preventive maintenance and coordination of calibrated equipment used in the warehouse, when applicable;
- Supervise staff including:
- Recommend hire, promotion, demotion, reclassification or termination of employees
- Write and conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions plans
- Recommend salary decisions (pay increases or new hire offers)
- Create training and employee development plans
- Handle all departmental employee relations issues
- Occasionally may need to be able to lift and carry 5-40 pounds;
- Occasionally may need to operate a Forklift;
- Performs special projects as requested;
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience Minimum Qualifications
- Five years or more of related experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role;
- General mathematical skills;
- Experience in warehouse and distribution systems;
- Familiarity with international shipping processes;
- Working knowledge of shipping systems and automated tools;
- Ability to follow oral and written communication;
- Able to lift and carry up 5-40 pounds;
- Experience in control of documents and material tracking;
- Must be PC literate and possess good organizational and communication skills;
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing facility;
- Prior experience with Forklift operation;
Education High School diploma or GED is required. Physical Requirements/ Work Environment This position primarily works in a warehouse environment. Must be able to routinely lift and carry up 5-40 pounds. Must also be proficient with Forklift operations. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when working in the warehouse or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
