Emergency Management Supervisor- Emergency Disaster Management- FT Day Shift

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Environment of Care and Emergency Management, the Emergency Management (EM) Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the development, management, implementation, and oversight of the day-to-day operations of on-going disaster preparedness and response efforts at multiple UCI Health locations. This individual will also serve as the Deputy Emergency Manager for UCI Health. The EM Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Planning Program and collaborate at the department, medical center, and system-wide level with leadership to establish plans to ensure the continuity of operations in all facets of healthcare delivery. The EM Supervisor will utilize tools such as the UC Ready Fusion Software tool to initiate planning processes and track program metrics.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid State of California Driver's License (or able to obtain one within 30 days of entering California).
• Must possess good communication and presentation skills
• Must have the ability to manage projects and personnel effectively and to work productively either independently or as a team member or team leader.
• Must have knowledge of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery principles of organization design, development and management.
• Must have demonstrated ability to design, develop, manage and implement elements of a Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program.
• Employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation. Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
• Bachelor degree, from an accredited institution, plus five (5) years experience responding to disasters/emergencies and interfacing with emergency response agencies OR any combination of post-secondary education and/or experience may be substituted for the required education totaling nine (9) years experience with at least four (4) of those years in an emergency management capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience interacting with Joint Commission surveyors and other regulatory/accreditation agencies.
• Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) certification.
• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification.
