POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Business Manager for the Base Operations Support Contract at NASA Ames Research Center is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective business operations across a range of critical functions, including financial reporting, employee relations, purchasing, asset management, and contract administration. This role involves supporting the program's planning, tracking, and reporting processes to align with NASA's operational standards. The Business Manager is key in ensuring accurate financial management, compliance with contract requirements, and smooth operational support.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Support comprehensive program planning, tracking, and reporting functions to meet project goals and ensure compliance with customer expectations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate 533 reports, invoices, and monthly status reports on time. Develop cost and price elements for Task Plans and manage task funding effectively.
  • Administer subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and effective management of resources. Collaborate closely with the Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and Resource Analysts (RAs).
  • Oversee purchasing activities and manage assets, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and optimization of resources.
  • Foster positive employee relations, manage badging requirements, and oversee general office functions to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Work in tandem with the Alutiiq Corporate Resources Team to align program needs with broader organizational resources and policies.


Estimated Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience supporting large projects of similar complexity.
  • At least 3 years' experience managing financial and contractual matters for contracts comparable in size and scope.
  • Strong experience in financial management, with the ability to prepare, analyze, and report on complex financial data accurately and timely.
  • Proven track record in project support and task funding, ensuring efficient and compliant administration of resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, NASA stakeholders, and corporate resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, address challenges proactively, and adapt to changing requirements.
