POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

As the Program Manager for the Base Operations Support Contract at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the success of all aspects of the contract, including technical, administrative, and contractual performance. The Program Manager will serve as the single point of contact for all matters related to contract execution, working closely with customers, senior leadership, and key stakeholders to maintain high standards of performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in managing complex contracts and leading cross-functional teams.

This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Ames Facility Support Services II (AFSSII) contract, ensuring all contractual, technical, and administrative matters are addressed effectively. Maintain transparent and open communication with customers and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on contract performance, milestones, and potential risks.
  • Responsible for the overall success of the contract, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of services while maintaining the highest quality standards. Proactively identify opportunities to improve contract outcomes and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the management of contract-level budgets, schedules, projects, and tasks. Ensure that staffing, skill levels, and compensation are aligned with contract requirements and organizational goals. Foster a positive work environment, enhancing employee morale and ensuring the team is adequately resourced to meet contract demands.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of new initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and increase the overall quality of service delivery. Work closely with internal teams to assess current workflows and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Interface with the ARC Director, senior leadership, and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to provide regular reporting on contract performance, financials, staffing, and deliverables. Ensure that performance appraisals, progress reports, and other required deliverables are submitted on time and in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Lead a team of professionals responsible for supporting various elements of the contract. Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, promoting a collaborative and results-oriented culture. Ensure that staff are equipped with the necessary skills, training, and resources to excel in their roles.
  • Identify potential risks and issues affecting contract performance, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to resolve or minimize the impact of such challenges. Ensure that any deviations from the contract are promptly addressed and communicated to the appropriate parties.


Estimated Pay Range:$150,000 - $170,000 per year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree, or 13 years with a master's degree or MBA.
  • At least 10 years of specialized experience managing complex projects from inception to deployment, including expertise in the management and control of funds, resources, and complex reporting mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-task contracts and/or subcontracts of various types and complexities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and interact with senior leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and deliver presentations to senior management and customers.
  • Expertise in managing budgets, schedules, and contracts, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management principles, including compliance, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to establish new initiatives and continuous improvement processes that align with organizational goals and contract objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and resolve complex issues.


Preferred Qualifications or Skills



  • Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related advanced degree.
