Job Description

Head of Tax Solutions Management

The role is Head of Tax Solutions Management reporting to the Head of the Back Office Solutions business unit within Capital Markets.

Summary

Business line role responsible for the overall revenue and long-term results of the Tax Information Reporting business within the Capital Markets Division of FIS Global. This role looks to provide business leadership over one of the most important and fastest growing business lines within the Capital Markets organization. The Tax Information Reporting Business encompasses all of Tax Information Reporting, Cost Basis, and Wealth Tax Solutions. This position presents an exciting opportunity to both run an existing and market leading set of solutions and services while at the same time engage and accelerate deep strategic projects that are driving growth for the longer term. The Head of Tax Solutions will need to be able to quickly incorporate into the existing organization, partner with multiple functional and non-functional teams and quickly identify opportunities for improvements and acceleration of the overall roadmap. This role will need to actively participate in commercial and client facing engagements to drive a client-oriented agenda and pursue long term value creation. To do this, they will need to understand the current industry, business challenges, technical product needs and ensure any proposed ideas are deliverable against available budget and timelines. The individual will lead directly and indirectly a global team of 200+ employees across product management, development, business operations and professional services.

Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Accountability
    • Overall responsibility to meet and/or exceed established annual revenue targets across the entire Product and Services
    • Partnering with Sales, Commercial Management and other functional teams for day-to-day monitoring and implementation of overall product strategy and yearly Go To Market initiatives.
  • Product Strategy
    • Define long term (3Y) strategic plan through thorough analysis of potential business cases that evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
    • Syndicate product strategy with relevant teams in Corporate Strategy, Sales, Finance, and other functional groups and define plan to meets short- and long-term expectations within the overall organization.
    • External product representative to key industry participants that include vendors, other technology providers and regulators.
  • Investment Planning
    • Transform long term strategy into specific business initiatives that need to be properly analyzed, evaluated, approved, and funded through detailed business case reviews.
    • Develop, syndicate and present FAM models for new initiatives as needed per corporate policies.
    • Overall responsibility for annual budget submissions, monitoring, and reporting through AHA! System
  • Solution Price Listing
    • Responsible for developing, maintaining, syndicating and back testing of price list for individual products, services, and overall solution.
    • Responsible for training and partnering with Commercial Management team for the utilization of the price list and overall syndication to Sales teams.
    • Selective involvement in deal pricing only as needed.
  • Innovation
    • Responsible for identifying opportunities for revenue growth through development of new solutions, new product enhancements and expansion into new client segments or regions.
    • Overall working with other product lines to identify ways to integrate solutions into more seamless processes and offerings.
  • M&A / Partnerships
    • In partnership with Strategy team, responsible for identifying potential acquisitions/divestiture options for the overall solutions and/or specific product gaps.
    • Responsible for initial assessment of overall opportunity and for building a base business case that can then be utilized to present and gather support from other functional groups (e.g., M&A team) for the more detailed review and analysis of a specific opportunity.
    • Responsible for working with other industry participants to establish partnership opportunities for distribution, reselling, JV, etc.
  • Go-to-Market Planning
    • Responsible for overall TAM analysis for each individual initiative and for the identification of potential target clients that can then be shared with Sales and GTM team.
    • In partnership with GTM and Marketing teams, responsible for putting together specific marketing campaigns and prioritization of overall budget across all new initiatives.
  • Major client relationships / Client Escalations & Major Deals
    • Natural escalation point for client issues across existing product solutions; works to leverage Delivery Management team to successfully address external client requirements through the proactive coordination across multiple internal groups.
  • Oversight of major client deliveries
    • Works with Professional Services and Managed Services teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of major solution implementations and deliveries.
    • Works to gather ongoing feedback from clients to drive future roadmap initiatives and align with key deliverables.
    • Works with functional teams to identify ways to accelerate delivery times and ensures that sufficient funds are allocated in the budget to deliver appropriate improvements and results.
  • Oversight of major product deliveries
    • Works with Development team to establish regular governance tracking meetings to ensure progress is being done in line with strategy, business cases and budget planning through the adequate review of business and technology KPIs.
    • Responsible for converting Development tracking information and maintaining an internal and external facing roadmap; responsible for ingoing communication of the roadmap and for ensuring clients are aware of any product enhancement that is delivered.

  • Global experience and knowledge of foreign tax regimes, including Canada and Europe, as well as digital asset experience a plus
FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $232,950.00 - $391,350.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
